ABOUT US
World Star is a singing competition in search of young talents with the potential to become the next World Stars. Following its success in Asia, World Star comes to the United States, providing aspiring singers with a platform to perform on a professional stage and take meaningful steps toward achieving their dreams of becoming recording artists.
Contestants will first compete in a Regional Round held in their selected city. The Los Angeles Regional Round will take place on 19 July 2026 at Baldwin Park Performing Arts Center. The winners of each division will receive a trophy and win an original song and a music video on Spotify/Apple Music/YouTube/etc. This unique experience gives young artists valuable industry exposure and a head start on their journey as recording artists.
All participating contestants in the Regional Rounds will be eligible to advance to the World Star National Championship in Los Angeles scheduled for July 2027. This exciting event will showcase the nation’s most promising young artists and provide them with an opportunity to compete for national recognition, prestigious awards, media attention, and career-building opportunities in the industry.
Performers can choose to compete or perform without competing for a valuable experience. Please indicate in the application form.

ELIGIBILITY

Ages between 6-19 years old (by 31 December 2026)

Kid Division : 6-12 years old
Teen Division: 13-19 years old
ENTRIES
- Solo, Duo, or Group (up to 9 people) For groups, the average age of all members determines the division. In groups of 3+, at least one member must sing and others may perform as dancers.

STAGE REHEARSAL FEE
$100 per act. Performers get to sound check and rehearse on stage 2 times (not more than 10 minutes/act.) Performers rehearse one time and receive a judge’s feedback before rehearsing a second time. Limited spots available.

All fees are non-refundable.
MODIFICATIONS
A $30 fee applies to any changes made after submission, including updating music files on-site, changing act names, adding/replacing performers, or changing age divisions. No modifications are permitted once the Final Schedule is released (3 days before the event).

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
SONG SELECTION
Original songs or covers in any genre (Pop, K-Pop, R&B, Soul, Country, Rock, Hip Hop, Jazz, Musical, etc.) except Classical. Duplicate songs are not permitted. Song selections will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
MUSIC
Backing tracks / instrumental tracks can be used for competition. Pre-recorded lead vocals are NOT allowed. Backing vocals are allowed.
CONTENT
Lyrics must be free of foul or offensive language.
LENGTH
Must be between 2:30-3:30 mins.
TECHNICAL
Tracks must be MP3 (128kbps or higher) or WAV/AIFF (44.1 kHz, 16-bit or higher) and emailed to worldstaracademy@gmail.com 4 days prior to the event. Subject: [Full Name/Group Name] - [Song Title] - [City]. Please make sure to select “Allow access to anyone” for links.
MICROPHONES
9 handheld wireless mics are provided. No headsets or lavaliers.
ENTRANCE
Please indicate in the Application Form whether the perfomer(s) will begin the performance on stage or make an entrance from the left or the right side of the stage (facing the audience) when the music starts.
PROPS
Props that can be hand-carried by the performers and do not leave marks or items that require clean up are allowed. Hazardous and inflammatory items such as fire, candles, lighters, explosives, weapons, swords, knives, guns, smoke, dry ice, etc. are not permitted. Please indicate in the Application Form if props need to be placed on stage before the song starts. Performers will be allowed up to 15 seconds for prop set up.
JUDGES
WINNER, 1ST RUNNER UP, AND 2ND RUNNER UP AWARDS
1. Singing Skill (30%): Pitch, rhythm, tonality, vocal control, dynamics, etc.
2. Performance (30%): Emotional expression, confidence, movement, use of stage, creativity, audience engagement, teamwork (for duo/group), etc.
3. Star Quality (40%): Visual appearance, charisma, presence, style, marketability, uniqueness, etc.
Finality of Decisions: All judging results, methods, and schedules are at the sole discretion of World Star and are final. Individual score sheets will be emailed within 7 days of the competition.
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS
At the end of the last performance, the audience will vote for their favorite singer/group in each division. The singer/group with the most votes will win the People’s Choice Award.
Judges are distinguished music producers and/or artist managers in the music industry. To ensure fairness and impartiality, judges are independent professionals and are not part of the World Star organization.
JUDGING CRITERIA
SHOW SCHEDULE
A tentative show schedule with the performance time of each act will be e-mailed to contestants 7 days prior to the competition. The Final Show Schedule will be e-mailed to contestants 3 days prior to the competition. Once the final schedule is released, NO modifications can be made.
PoLICIES
ARRIVAL
Performers should arrive 1 hour before stage rehearsal or performance time and register at the registration desk upon arrival. Standby backstage 30 mins before the stage rehearsal or performance time. Performers should come in full costume, hair and make-up. If the competition is running ahead of schedule, performers are still expected to perform in the order of the final schedule and when called upon backstage.
BACKSTAGE
Limited dressing room space. Only one parent is allowed backstage per act.
FOOD / BEVERAGE
No food or beverage (except bottled water) is allowed in the auditorium, backstage, or dressing rooms. Food and beverage can be purchased in the lobby.
COURTESY FOR PERFORMERS
Please silence phones, refrain from talking, and remain seated during acts. Please leave or enter the auditorium in between acts only.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS
Photo and video filming is allowed during the competition but no flashes please. Please do not block the views of the audience or the organizer’s cameras.
SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS
Social media posts are allowed. Please tag #worldstarcompetition.
MEDIA CONSENT
By attending, all performers, families, and spectators grant World Star the right to film and photograph them for perpetual use in any media and all marketing purposes.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
World Star and the venue are not responsible for injury, loss, or damage to persons or property. Participation implies acceptance of inherent physical risks. Upon registration to any World Star event, it is agreed that participants will not hold World Star, its directors or employees responsible for any damages, losses, injuries, or illnesses that occur during the event. Studio owners, directors, and performers must adhere to the Release of Liability Clause completed during application.
SAFETY
We encourage all attendees to supervise children, be responsible for personal belongings, and report suspicious activity to staff.
